About Us

We are Peryal and Ian hailing from Izmir, Turkey and Durban, South Africa respectively. We both quit our long term jobs in London and traded the daily commute for a backpack and a basic travel plan to get across South America.

Our plan is to make our way around on the tips and advice from the people we meet and the friends we make along the way.

Since we packed up our lives and left everything behind in 2013 our original plan has given us some incredible opportunities to experience the wonderful world we live in and taken us to some exotic places we’d never even dreamed of.

We’ve since left behind the stunning South American continent and are making our way around South East Asia, loving every precious moment!

***2015 UPDATE***

It’s with heavy hearts that we say this but from today we’ll no longer be living or travelling together as Tales of PI. Our lives have changed in ways we couldn’t predict and have decided it would be best to go our separate ways.

Peryal is making her way to Thailand and later Bali and will be taking over the page and our blog. Ian will be staying in Australia for the time being.

Thank you all so much for your support and love while we have been out on our great adventure. Our trip would not have been half as special without the joy of meeting and knowing such beautiful people along the way. We wish you all the very best for the future and hope to see you all soon.

With much love, Peryal & Ian

  1. Hi Peryal and Ian!

I came across Tales of PI and love what you are doing! I do social media for Project Pangia and after
sharing it with my team, we felt like you would be an awesome person to collaborate with. Basically, we want to send
    you free stuff!

We make bracelets that inspire travel and kindness – you give the bracelet to someone you meet on your journey, who in turn gives the bracelet to someone they meet and it creates a chain of giving and sharing. Every bracelet has a code registered on our website. Each new recipient can find the bracelet online and adds a post, pic, and pinpoint on the map. You can see how where and how far the bracelet has traveled, read stories of the people who have had the bracelet before you, and then follow as the bracelet travels the world.

We just launched our kickstarter and are wondering if you will help spread the word – in exchange we would love to send you one of our travel bracelets and promote your page in return:)

    All the best,
    Whitney
